    -The first of only two shows that Bob ever did in Africa
  • January 14 - Don Taylor fired as manager
  • January 15 - Bob Marley & The Wailers fly back to London to begin recording "Uprising"

  • March - Bob Marley, Junior Marvin and Jacob Miller fly to Brazil to plan a series of concerts featuring Bob Marley & The Wailers and Inner Circle
    -Brazil shows never materialize because of Jacob Miller's untimely death

  • April 17 & 18 - Zimbabwe Independence Concert - Rufaro Stadium - Salisbury, Zimbabwe
    -Riot breaks out on the 17th, and the concert was continued on the 18th
    -The second and final show that Bob ever played in Africa

  • May - "Uprising" album released
